Ghosts of Portland Square

Ghosts Of Portland Square, Bristol

Bristol Do Festival, 25 September 2009

Ghosts Of Portland Square by Nathan Hughes of Mindpaw was a dramatic fusion of street-theatre, pyrotechnics, surround sound and projected light, which refracted Bristol’s past through a prism of Victorian phantasamogoria and personal testimony. Dark Spark contributed a range of amazing elements including a pyrotechnic animation of the 40 metre Church steeple, blinking trees within the Square, explosions and sirens from the basements of surrounding houses and a swarm of cyclists rigged with pyrotechnic blinkers and whistles.
